Toyota City, Japan, April 25, 2012 - Lexus announces that the "CT 200h" gasoline-electric hybrid five-door hatchback earned the Grand Prix award for highest safety performance among all vehicle models rated under the Japan New Car Assessment Program* (JNCAP) vehicle-safety evaluation tests. The CT 200h also received the Five-Star Award from the 2011 JNCAP and is the first vehicle model to receive the Grand Prix under the new overall safety performance assessment structure introduced in 2011.

The new assessment structure integrates vehicle occupant protection and pedestrian protection performance during collisions under a single assessment structure, providing an overall safety evaluation for automobiles with the assignment of one to five stars. The CT 200h received the maximum five-star rating for achieving the highest level of safety for vehicle occupants as well as for pedestrians. Vehicle occupant safety is attained through features including a highly rigid cabin, impact-absorbing body, Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL) seats and eight airbags, while pedestrian safety is ensured in part through the use of a state-of-the-art body structure that helps to protect pedestrians from injuries.
Lexus - as a true global premium brand born in Japan - remains committed to providing vehicles that offer the utmost safety and peace-of-mind for both occupants and pedestrians.
*Since 1995, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and the National Agency for Automotive Safety and Victims' Aid have been disseminating information under the JNCAP on the safety of vehicles to promote the use of safe automobiles. The information comprises results of safety evaluations for commercially available vehicles based on tests including collision safety performance tests, pedestrian head and leg protection performance tests and braking performance tests.

Based on current expected part procurement, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) provides notice, as below, regarding the current expectation for its future production.
TMC is carefully monitoring the situation in each region and for each vehicle model and is every day working its hardest to identify every way to restore production as much as possible. However, it is possible that during this period of adjustment in production, reduced production levels may have a significant impact on TMC's business results.
The estimates above concerning TMC's future production are based on TMC's judgment and assumptions based on current circumstances and information currently available to TMC, and may differ from TMC's actual production situation in the future.
If there are any new developments concerning these matters, TMC will display the new information on its homepage and make additional disclosures as appropriate.

Thank you all very much for being here today, in spite of the very short notice and your busy schedules.
First of all, I would like to pause briefly in memory of those who perished in the recent earthquake disaster, and to offer my sincere sympathies to the surviving victims.
On April 18, we restarted production at all of our domestic plants.
As we now have a better idea of such things as when we will be able to normalize production, because we wanted to get the word out soon, we made today's announcement.
In both Japan and overseas, in general, we expect to return to pre-earthquake-disaster levels of production in around November or December.
In Japan, we are currently operating at about 50 percent. We will mark that as the low point from which we intend to increase production as much as possible from around July. Although it will depend on the vehicle model, we expect to return production on all lines and of all models to normal sometime around November or December.
As for production outside Japan, we are currently producing at about 40 percent. Because the shipping of parts abroad requires time, the timing of the start of normalization of production overseas will be one month later than in Japan, or around August. Afterward, just as with production in Japan, although it will depend on the region and the model, we expect to return production to normal sometime around November or December.
To all the customers who made the decision to buy a vehicle made by us, I sincerely apologize for the enormous delay in delivery. To maintain such customers' loyalty and understanding,Toyota Motor Corporation and its dealers are prepared to offer unprecedented customer service.
To our dealers, suppliers and other related parties, I feel terribly sorry for the hardships we may have caused you. Please know that we are now considering supportive structures.
The Great East Japan Earthquake was different than others in terms of the breadth of the regions that it affected. The damage touched the economy, the whole of Japan and all businesses.
Immediately after the earthquake, Toyota, like others, sent its employees into the disaster zone to join forces with our plants, dealers and suppliers to take steps toward recovery.
I, too, visited the affected areas several times. I saw people's efforts first hand, and I was filled with confidence that their hard work would make possible a quicker recovery of production.
Because the automobile industry has such a broad base, its effect on others is widely felt. Believing that the sooner the better, our entire company has been working to bring production back to normal.
To those of you, I seek your understanding and support.
Thank you.

Tokyo, Japan, April 22, 2011-Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announced today that its production operations,
which were negatively affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, are expected to normalize around November or December 2011.
In Japan, depending on vehicle model, normalization* of production is expected to start in July,
with normalization completing around November or December.
Outside Japan, depending on region and vehicle model, normalization of production is expected to start in August,
with normalization completing around November or December.
"To all the customers who made the decision to buy a vehicle made by us, I sincerely apologize for the enormous delay in delivery.
Immediately after the earthquake, Toyota, like others, sent its employees into the disaster zone to join forces with our plants,

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) offers its most-sincere sympathies to those affected by the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake.
As TMC continues to address its production situation in Japan following the disaster,
it has decided that vehicle production from May 10 to June 3 will proceed at approximately 50 percent of normal.
TMC will decide on production after this period after assessing the situation of its suppliers and other related companies.
Today's decision follows TMC's previously announced decision to produce vehicles at all its Japanese vehicle-production facilities
from April 18 to April 27 at approximately 50 percent of normal and for all production facilities to enter their annual spring holiday through May 9.
TMC deeply apologizes to its customers for not being able to build every vehicle to meet their desired specifications due to limited parts.

The LF-Gh, a next-generation mid-size grand touring sedan, incorporates Lexus Hybrid Drive technology and breaks new ground within the Lexus L-finesse*1 design philosophy. The authentic and powerful proportions of the vehicle embody the ideals of Lexus: the joy of driving and the essence of premium cars.
The advanced and resolute face-featuring a boldly designed spindle-shaped front grille positioned below the headlamps in keeping with Lexus styling-exudes uniqueness and gives a clearer expression of the Lexus configuration.
The new grille, which enhances the performance of the radiator grille and brake-cooling duct, as well as improves aerodynamics, gives a tantalizing glimpse at the future direction of the Lexus face.
The Lexus Hybrid Drive simultaneously achieves superior output and environmental performance while taking Lexus to the next level in terms of driving performance, quiet ride and high fuel efficiency with reduced CO2 emissions and cleaner exhaust gases.

I offer my prayers to all those who lost their lives in the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake and its ensuing aftermath, as well as my sympathy to the survivors and their families.
Not only is the struck region one of our production bases, those directly hit and vastly affected include our dealers, suppliers and numerous other partners.
I went to Miyagi Prefecture on March 27. Seeing the devastation with my own eyes brought home to me the depth of destruction and the atmosphere of sadness caused by the disaster. Seeing the situation for myself made me more determined to continue to provide useful support.
I visited government offices in Ohira Village and in Taiwa Town, which have supported our business activities in their locales.
I also went to Sendai Port, to our dealerships and to our factories that produce vehicles and parts.
Although time was limited, through visiting the affected area and seeing people there trying step-by-step to get over the agony of their losses, I became strongly determined to return smiles to the faces of the people in the Tohoku region by reviving manufacturing there as soon as possible.
We believe that returning as quickly as possible to daily life can play an important part in bringing the hope of a better tomorrow - at our plants, our team members once again working together, supporting each other and creating a positive atmosphere and, at our dealerships, warm and friendly staff once again welcoming customers.
We at Toyota will continue doing all we can to be of assistance to the people affected.

With life the number-one priority, we want to do all we can to contribute to the relief efforts.
Determined to provide hope for not only those suffering and forced to undergo extreme hardships, but also for the region overall, we will do our utmost toward the realization of recovery.

Toyota City, Japan, January 12, 2011—Lexus announces the launch in Japan today of the hybrid-only "CT 200h*1", its first entry in the premium-compact segment.
Paving the way for a new Lexus era, the CT 200h is a five-door hatchback combining the vitality of agile driving with advanced environmental performance and dynamic, sporty styling to create an experience that excites and motivates both drivers and passengers.
Its high level of body rigidity, supported by performance dampers, a newly developed suspension and steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters for driver control achieves both agile handling and riding comfort. The Drive Mode Select feature allows drivers to switch between different acceleration and steering sensitivities and gauge displays as wanted. Top class fuel efficiency is also attained through effective harnessing of a 1.8-liter Atkinson cycle combustion engine*2 and Lexus Hybrid Drive technology.
Furthermore, keeping vehicle height low emphasizes the vehicle's low center of gravity, lending to a silhouette suggesting dynamic movement.
